Day 10   (Kenting – Taichung)

Now what is it you hope for if you’re by the beach….RAIN of course…. Yup it’s raining….I was really excited about working the camera and working the tan simultaneously (despite already cultivating a migrant worker look) however that wasn’t to be. The sun finally comes out after lunch but brings its buddy “the wind” with it…The sea is so clear and I’m definitely coming back here on holiday, but for the moment we’ve got to move on. We all watch as Li Yi, our hero of a cameraman, stands in the sandstorm filming empty shot. Whilst the sand stops our beach shoot, it doesn’t stop us from filming a beautiful little hostel where a bed is shaped like a boat. I’m coming back here!

Didn’t you ever just want to sleep on a boat and definitely not get seasick?

I spend the hour or so drive up to Taichung and Zhiben in trepidation…everyone else is chatting away happily but I’m very aware that tonight’s shoot is unique and one I have never done before. We’re filming in a hot spring spa, in our hotel, which is divided into men and women only….Oh and did I forget to mention that it is compulsory to be NAKED!!!!!!!! Whilst discussing the filming strategy over dinner, the ladies in the crew decide it is probably wise if they don’t attend. Funnily enough I agree with them….The actual shoot is fine and don’t worry there’s no shots that’ll put you off your food for life….or put you off life altogether for that matter. It was filmed with an astounding degree of professionalism!
